Your Daily Water Need
This calculator gives general estimates for informational purposes only and does not replace advice from a doctor or sports nutritionist.
How do we calculate your water needs?
We start with a baseline amount based on your body weight — roughly 33 ml per kilogram of body weight, the basic amount your body needs daily even without extra effort.
We then add extra based on your activity level (to replace fluids lost through sweat), plus extra if the climate is hot or humid, since your body loses more fluid in the heat.
The final result is a solid estimate of your daily needs, but remember water sources don't have to be pure drinking water only — fruits, vegetables, and soup all contribute to hydration.
Signs you need to drink more water
- Dark-colored urine (it should be pale yellow, almost clear).
- Feeling thirsty, dry mouth, or frequent unexplained headaches.
- Fatigue and tiredness despite adequate sleep.
- A noticeable drop in athletic performance or mental focus.
